Sandstone sold out. In record time. I wasn’t prepared for that level of response
As I hadn't forecasted the response to our latest collection, there was nothing already in production- because I truly didn’t expect it to move that fast. I have since placed a restock order (in February) however, our turnaround is four months.
Four months can feel long when you’re waiting for something you love. I understand that deeply. So I wanted to share what actually happens during that time - because this process is anything but idle.

Sandstone - 185gsm French flax linen, yarn-dyed
Our linen starts in Europe
When we place an order, everything begins with the fibre.
The flax used in our fabric is sourced from Western Europe under the European Flax® standard - one of the most rigorous certifications in the industry. Those fibres must first be transported to our partnering mill before production can even begin.
Only once they arrive does the fabric start to exist.
We create our fabric from scratch
Some brands purchase ready-made fabric already sitting in a warehouse. We don’t.
Our linen is yarn-dyed and custom woven to our specifications at approximately 185gsm. The colour is dyed into the threads before weaving begins - a slower, more considered method that creates the subtle depth, texture and tonal richness our linen is known for.
Yarn-dyed linen develops more beautifully over time. It’s one of those quiet details you may not notice immediately - but you’ll feel across years of use.
Once the yarn is dyed, the fabric is woven to our designs. Only then are pieces cut, sewn, washed and finished. This slower approach is what gives our linen its depth, integrity and character.

Every piece is made in considered runs
We don’t mass produce. We don’t hold endless stock.
Each order is a commitment - financially and emotionally. As a growing small business, there’s a delicate balance between backing yourself and not overextending. Producing in small batches allows us to avoid overproduction, reduce waste, and ensure quality remains consistent across every piece.
It also means that when something sells quickly, we can’t replace it overnight.
Certified safe for your home
Alongside traceable fibre sourcing, our linen is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. This globally recognised testing ensures every component of the textile is free from potentially harmful substances - making it safe for your home, your skin and your sleep. It’s one more step in a process designed around care, rather than speed.
Thank you for waiting
Long waits between restocks aren’t because we don’t care. They’re because we care deeply - about quality, about ethical supply chains, about building something that lasts.
Bedding trends (like fast fashion) moves quickly. Salt Living is timeless, and built for longevity.
Thank you for your patience. Thank you for selling us out. And thank you for caring enough to wait. There are no words to express how much gratitude and appreciation I have towards our lovely Salt Living customers and community. So thank you again!
