At Salt Living, we believe

Home is more than a place ~ it’s a feeling. A quiet moment at the end of each day.

Our mission is to help enhance those moments by offering beautifully crafted, premium bedding that brings comfort and a timeless, seaside aesthetic into your home. Inspired by nature and designed with heart by Jacinta, each collection is made from high quality materials in exclusive colours, and a deep care for how you feel in your space. We aim to empower the decorator in you, offering confidence, inspiration, and the kind of service that feels personal — like coming home.

How to Style

~ Layer, don't match: Combine plain French Blue with our French Blue ticking stripe rather than one weave throughout. The texture contrast keeps a two-tone room from looking flat.

~ Sandstone is the connector: Use Sandstone as the piece that bridges French Blue and White. A single Sandstone cushion or sham stops the palette feeling too stark.

~ Wash for the drape, not the crease: Coastal air means more frequent washing. Dry in shade rather than full sun, and skip the iron. The slightly relaxed finish is exactly the look this collection is going for.

~ Take the coastal feeling past the bed: Bare timber underfoot with a jute rug reads closer to a shingled New England guest room than a resort. A custom-made window dressing does more for the light in here than an off-the-shelf blind ever will, and a pair of wall sconces suits the mood better than one light overhead.

~ Layer a sham in front of the pillows: A pair of decorative shams in front of your sleeping pillows gives a Coastal Living bed its finished look. Choose White against French Blue for something crisp, or Sandstone for a warmer, quieter take.

Meet the Founder

Together with my parents, Carol and Steve, we opened Salt Living in early 2015 - and it’s been our greatest joy ever since.

My days are spent working on Salt Living or moving between home in Coffs Harbour and our Gold Coast warehouse. When not working I'll either be spending time with my son, frolicking in the sea, painting or deep in a Pinterest rabbit hole, absorbing all the beautiful tones, textures, and interiors that inspire me.

But one of my greatest joys is linen — and the quiet ritual of returning home to a bed layered with freshly laundered sheets and a fluffy, crisp duvet.

Thank you for being here.

with love, Jacinta

Our Coastal Collection

There's a specific kind of light that comes off the water in the late afternoon, and Salt Living's Coastal Living collection is built around it, French Blue against crisp White, with Sandstone layered in for warmth. It's a deliberately quieter take on a coastal bedroom, closer to the shingled houses of New England or a stretch of the Cornish or Devon coast than to anything overtly nautical. No shells, no literal stripes as decoration, just colour and texture doing the work a theme usually would.

French Flax Linen suits this climate in a way few other fabrics do. It wicks moisture rather than holding onto it, which matters through a humid coastal summer, and it softens with every wash rather than breaking down the way synthetic blends can. Customers living right on the coast tell us this is the collection that finally stopped their bedding feeling damp and heavy through summer, a small, practical difference that shows up every single night.Every piece is yarn-dyed before weaving, so the French Blue holds its depth rather than fading to grey the way a surface-dyed fabric can, and every colour in this range is chosen to move easily into our other collections.

A Coastal Living duvet sits just as naturally with a Cottage Cushion in yarn-dyed chambray as it does with pieces from Seaside. It's a look interior stylists lean on often, precisely because it never demands an exact match. And behind all of it is a small, family-run team who tested this palette against real coastal light before deciding it was ready to sell, not just a mood board.

Getting a coastal bedroom right without it tipping into cliche is where a trusted eye helps most, and it's a look I've spent years refining at Salt Living alongside people building everything from a weekender to a full renovation. I'm Jacinta Bishop, and whether you know precisely the mood you're after or you'd like some guidance putting the palette together, that's exactly what I'm here for.

Frequently Asked Questions

How durable is the linen in warmer, coastal conditions?
Customers in humid climates specifically mention how well our linen breathes and doesn't trap heat, one of the most repeated reasons people choose it for a beach house.
Will it feel soft straight away?
Our linen is stonewashed for a noticeably soft texture, even before the first wash, and only improves from there.
How do people usually style French Blue?
Most mix textures as much as colour, thin stripe with ticking, or plain chambray with a bolder stripe, and layer in White or pieces from the Sandstone Farmhouse collection for warmth. It's rarely kept as a single flat block of one weave/colour.
Why do pieces sometimes sell out or take a while to restock?
We produce in small, considered batches rather than mass runs, so once a colourway sells through, it may take time to come back. Part of what keeps each release feeling special rather than mass-produced. We are also a very small family owned business, so we don't always have the resources to have endless supply of production happening.
Can I place my order over the phone?
Yes, if you'd rather not shop online, we're happy to take your order by phone, just reach out via our contact page and our team will guide you through it personally. Or call us on 0435 849 128 . Please note: We are a busy, small team and sometimes we are unavailable to answer the phone. Please leave us a voicemail and we will return your call within 1 business day.
