Reclaiming My Weekends

As one year closes and another year opens I’m sure I’ve joined many of you in reflecting on the year that’s been and maybe even ventured to peer into the window of what may come in 2019.

While I’m not one to dwell to long in the past, there are always lessons to learn and highpoints to celebrate and so I’d love to share with you all some of my musings as I return to open the doors of Salt Living for a fourth year.

To own and operate Salt Living solo requires a lot of sacrifice. I’ve received countless hours of help from my incredible team (Marizanne and Molly), my sister in law Renee and of course my ever supportive parents (Carol and Steve), who volunteer their free to time work in the shop, but I am often still left trying to balance the obligations of the store and the care of myself and family, who I love and cherish!

So this year, in the spirit of reflection, I’m going to change things up and give myself back my WEEKENDS! 2019 will be there year that I boldly give myself back the entire weekend each week to spend with Jake and my family and friends – allowing precious time to refuel so that I can give more abundantly to Salt Living through the week.

One of the highlights of my year I have you to thank for! I cautiously invited you all to an intimate evening celebrating small business, community and Australian design and was absolutely blown away by your eagerness to support us!

To all of you asking if we will do it again – it would be my pleasure! I had such a great night meeting so many of you and can’t wait to invite you back for more live music, evening shopping, mini-workshops and more! Stay tuned!

So here is to Salt Living in 2019 – a year of claiming back weekends, discovering new Australian designers, special events and new friends!
